Overwatch's hero reworks are the next best thing we get to some other hero -- they choose an existing member of the cast and fix the issues that make them less than viable (or simply unfun to play against). Sombra went from an unusual health pack hack service into a proper Offense. Mercy's rework, the most notorious at all, took away her mass rez and gave her the ability to fly and then string her beams. Hero reworks take somebody who's been on the bench (or in each ace game) and gives them a modern day makeover.
So, who is next on the rework schedule? Hanzo is the next candidate, and he's already coming along very nicely. The archer is getting a dash, losing his one-shot dot arrow, and gaining a candy fresh multi-shot rapid fire which can mow through tanks. His sonic arrow is becoming a bit of a buff. Here's where things get interesting: We are aware that the programmers want to rework Symmetra (again) and Torbjorn, but Torbjorn is far off in the space and Symmetra remains in the exact experimental stages. While we'll see the new and improved Hanzo this spring, the builders are going to be at the store for quite some time. But Overwatch game manager Jeff Kaplan did reveal that there's "someone else" being worked . Reinhardt is your tank that has been touched the least since release, and he's dropped behind in the meta. He still has a very robust and compelling core fantasy, but a programmer rework could help him maintain Orisa and D.Va. The support cast seems to maintain a pretty healthy location, but Lucio is still struggling to pump out as much recovery as his pals. Sombra's brand new hack also makes it pretty simple to close our favorite Battle DJ down. A surprise rework that brings one of Overwatch's most well-known characters back to the forefront could be welcome. Who do you need to see get a rework in the future? Which members of the cast do you think are most in need of a tune up?
